We are national leaders in the commercialization of Carbon Steel and Stainless Steel pipes, flanges and connections for fluid handling and structural projects. If you are looking for the best quality piping, guaranteed by international certifications, safely and on time, you are in the right place. In Aceros Insumex we advise you to choose the ideal material for your fluid or structural piping system.
First level Materials

Carbon Steel.

Also known as construction steel due to its frequent use in civil and mechanical construction in bridges, stadiums and scaffolding, is probably the most popular of the steel alloys. However, its main use is undoubtedly in fluid and gas piping. This is the use that most of our customers in Mexico give to the carbon steel pipes we supply.

Stainless Steel.

Stainless steel piping is generally used in situations where the environment is more corrosive or where greater durability is sought. It is important to note that carbon steel easily lasts for decades, however, in certain highly corrosive environments such durability decreases drastically, which is why stainless steel is recommended in many cases, for example in constructions near the sea.

In what part of the country are you located?
Our corporate offices are located in San Pedro Garza Garcia, Nuevo Leon. Our distribution of pipe, flanges and fittings is nationwide.
What makes them different from other distributors?
The level of service quality, which is partly due to our infrastructure and capacity as well as our internal quality management. In addition, we supply not only carbon steel, galvanized and stainless steel, but also high-density polyethylene (HDPE) in smooth and corrugated versions.
Do you have galvanized pipe?
Yes, we have carbon steel pipe that has been galvanized for added protection. If you require more protection against corrosion we also have AISI 304 and AISI 316 stainless steel in regular or low carbon versions.
What is the difference between galvanized steel pipe and stainless steel pipe?
Galvanized steel pipe is usually carbon steel pipe that has had a zinc coating added to the surface for corrosion resistance, while stainless steel pipe is made of an iron alloy with a minimum of ten percent chromium. Stainless steel pipe is more corrosion resistant than galvanized carbon steel pipe. This does not mean that carbon steel is not ideal for many projects. To know when to use carbon steel pipe, stainless steel pipe or galvanized pipe, it is best to consult an expert. Reach out to us.
Does the budget dictate what type of steel I should use?
It is very common to think that the budget dictates what type of steel to use. In reality, the type of steel used must respond to the particularities of each project, especially taking into account the level of corrosion in the environment. A carbon steel pipe in an ideal environment will last for decades, but no one uses carbon steel in situations where stainless steel is required or where HDPE is ideal. While it may initially seem more economical to use carbon steel in an environment that is too corrosive for carbon steel, the replacement costs will be higher, regardless of other factors such as safety. It should be noted that there are certain situations where both stainless steel and carbon steel or HDPE can be used, and the result can be practically indistinct, but there are also many cases where only one of these materials is ideal to the extent that even if the other two have a lower cost, their use is simply discarded for durability and safety criteria.
